Houston Funeral Directors Make a Statement

In San Francisco, there was a co-operative effort called “Scared Stiff” to address the gang and teen violence. I was assisting Larry Gray with some of the copy writing behind the scenes before I left the area. I would really like to see if this affects the homicide statistics of the youth in this area.
Violence is out of control in Houston. Everywhere you look something tragic is happening. The news is always filled with grim statistics that are shattering families.
The members of the Houston Funeral Directors and Morticians Association decided to make a bold statement this past Sunday evening by parading seventeen hearses down some of Houston’s highest-crime neighborhoods. There has been a disturbing increase in the number of young homicide victims over the past year and a half.
“We love our 100-year-olds, our 103-year-olds,” said Ariana Harris, a funeral director for Mabrie Memorial Mortuary in Midtown. “Those are the families we want to serve. It’s hard to see the kids.”
