Empty Casket Prompts Gangland Shooting

Not really, but this post from Derek in San Francisco records a police report about Funerals by Washington getting their storefront casket company shot up Thursday.

They never used my services, but maybe it was just as well. The Bayview area is a dangerous place at night, although I never had any trouble with night removals there. Perhaps it was because of the nature of the work I was doing.

They sell discount caskets, and I’m sure this one will have to be disposed of, since it would technically not be sealed for burial. If it’s wooden, perhaps it would be good for cremation.

I guess we’ll never know.

Here’s a report from today’s Bayview Police Station Bulletin:

” April 3, 2008-Shooting into Inhabitied Dwelling-1641 LaSalle Ave-9:00pm-CN#080347678: Officer Festa responded to 16OO blk of LaSalle, Washington’s Mortuary, regarding a shots fired. The employee told Officer Festa that someone had shot into the Mortuary window and had hit one of the caskets and that there was now a bullet imbedded into the casket. The casket had been empty and there had not been a funeral for over a week. No one else was hurt. “

- So can I get a discount on the casket with a bullet lodged into it, or is that a custom option?

- Also, Why wouldn’t the casket be empty? Would they really have bodies in the caskets at 9pm?
