Disinterment for the Uninitiated
by Mortuary Transport Expert ~ April 6th, 2008. Filed under: Body Business, Removal Stories. These are some photos from my first disinterment. The gentleman had been buried 25 years earlier, and was having his remains exhumed to be cremated and joined with the cremated remains of his wife who had just died, and they were to be scattered into the sea from Carmel, CA.

Hi Wayne; Robin and I were surfing the web last night, and came across your website.I found this site very informative and professional. We are currently employed by Averitt Express in Houston,Texas. We are over the road team drivers,we run from Houston to Meridian,Mississippi 5 days a week covering almost 5,400 miles,so we’re no strangers to hard running. I had worked on weekends for Pace-Stancil funeral home in Cleveland,Texas.I found the work to be fascinating and rewarding. But the only drawbacks were not enough working experience, and Pace-Stancil going through a transitional period. Instead of using part time help, they decided to take on more Funeral Directors. Plus to make room for the owners son. (You know the story I’m sure.) I don’t know about Texas funeral laws, but I was told a person had to be a licensed Funeral Director to start a transport service. Basically we need a mentor to guide us along. We are professional, and at-large on service, also we have a combined trucking experience of over 55 years. Both my wife and I will turn 51 in April and May.We don’t plan to drive trucks forever,we want a career to where we’re home, and to serve our community. Any help would be greatly treasured. Thank you; James and Robin Robertson, Willis,Texas.
